.Background Info: In 2012, the Meydan Group announced the Entisar Tower project—a 570-meter (1,870-foot) tall skyscraper with 122 floors. Construction began in 2016. However, in 2017, the Dubai Municipality’s Building Proposal Department issued a stop-work order due to a payment dispute with the developer, halting progress. The project was subsequently abandoned amid a real estate market downturn.
In 2018, Azizi Developments acquired the long-stalled Entisar Tower. In January 2024, the tower was renamed and redesigned as Burj Azizi, with construction officially restarting in 2025.
